A new era at Everton? How the Toffees could line up next season after potentially busy window

Everton are a football club deep-rooted in tradition and history. However, this upcoming season it will be all change, but there's plenty to be excited about. The club have left behind the iconic Goodison Park stadium, and will play their home matches at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium on the Bramley-Moore Dock. This summer transfer window could also turn into one of the most exciting ones for the Toffees in recent years, as the new ownership group, FriedkinCo, begin to flex their financial muscles. Recruitment had been a mess at Everton for some time, but this summer seems to represent a clearer strategy, as the club aim to bring down the average age of the squad and bring in some younger talents, whilst competing better in the Premier League.
Having the stability of David Moyes as manager could also be helpful during this transitional period for the club. The Merseyside outfit have already signed striker Thierno Barry from Villarreal for €30 million, as well as making midfielder Carlos Alcaraz's loan move into a permanent one for €15m. Everton are now chasing two English stars in Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Southampton teenage talent Tyler Dibling. Both deals are thought to be making solid progress, with a fee currently being negotiated for the latter and a fee reportedly agreed for the former. So how could Everton line up next season in their first campaign at the new stadium?
How Everton could line up next season?
Moyes' teams are usually built on stability and the Scot will be hoping that's the case next season. If all players are fit, he is likely to stick with his tried and trusted defensive unit. England's Jordan Pickford will be in between the sticks, with the experienced James Tarkowski and the talented Jarrad Branthwaite at centre-half. Vitaliy Mykolenko is likely to start at left-back, although youngster Adam Aznou has been brought in from Bayern Munich this summer for cover. Jake O'Brien is likely to get the nod at right-back, with the club skipper Séamus Coleman waiting in the wings as back-up.
Should Dewsbury-Hall complete his move to Everton, he could line up with the experienced Idrissa Gueye in centre-midfield. The Toffees could then field a potentially exciting trio of Iliman Ndiaye, Dwight McNeil, and Dibling behind the striker. And up top, new signing Barry will likely be competing with Beto for a starting birth, after Dominic Calvert-Lewin left the club this summer. After a tough few seasons in which Everton have been fighting the prospect of relegation with tooth and nail, there may be a brighter horizon ahead for the Merseyside club.
